I began serving as pastor of Baton United Methodist Church in July of 2021. Prior to that, I pastored a United Methodist congregation across the river for 14 years. My journey in ministry began in 1993. I was born and raised in and around Knoxville, Tennessee, with a few years spent elsewhere, and I moved to North Carolina in 1990 to attend seminary. It was during that time that I met my wife, Chrysti, who has shared this journey with me since June of 1993.

As a pastor and preacher, my greatest hope rests in the Kingdom of God—a Kingdom God has promised, one that is both present now and yet to come. I seek to live and lead toward that Kingdom and its King, Jesus Christ. Guided and strengthened by the Holy Spirit, we are reminded of what we already know and encouraged to learn what we are ready to learn as we strive to follow Jesus each day (John 14:26).
