The culture of Baton United Methodist Church is “orthodox” in the sense of believing and practicing that God has been revealed to us through the Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). We believe that Jesus of Nazareth is alive and is Lord of Heaven and Earth. We believe the Holy Spirit continues to remind us of what we have already learned and will teach us new things as we are ready to receive them. The Bible is our foundation for that faith in God. We believe the Bible reveals God’s plan for a new heaven and earth. We approach the Bible with humility, aware that it has often been used to work against God’s will being done on earth as it is in heaven. Our mission is to follow Jesus via the Holy Spirit every day as individuals and as a congregation. We seek to discern our assigned portion of the Kingdom of God and try to practice living into that. We are here to share God’s love with all people.
